Q.
Does my last name have to be in the Bible?
A. No, since each Bible is printed individually, it can
be customized any way you want. The last name is only used in approximately
50 places, primarily the title page, and book titles, e.g. “The
Good News for Linda Jones According to Matthew”. We can even put
one name on the cover (e.g. Patricia) and another in the text
(e.g. Pat). Special titles (e.g. Pastor, Dr.) are easily included.
Q. How much is shipping
and handling?
A. Shipping & handling in USA by Media Mail (7-14 days) included.
Priority Mail (3-4 days): add $5 per item, $10 Complete Bible. S/H to Canada & Mexico: $5 per item, $15 Complete Bible.
S/H outside North America: $10 per item, $30 Complete Bible. Pocket Script. & Calendar S/H outside USA: $5 per item.
Q. How long does it take
to get the Personal Promise Bible?
A. The Personal Promise Bibles take 4 to 6 weeks to make
after the order is received by the publishers. Paperback products take 2-3 weeks. CD's generally
ship in 1 to 2 weeks.
Q. It's for a gift less
than 4 weeks -- what can I do?
A. We have free gift cards that you can present to the
person on the occasion and the Bible will be shipped as soon as
it's bound. Just indicate on the order form that you want a gift
card. We also suggest that you go to the
"In
Christ" page and print the free personalized ìIn Christî scriptures
so they can see a sample of what the Personal Promise Bible text
will be.
Q. Is it available in
large print? What’s the font size?
A. Yes, our New Testament with Psalms & Proverbs is available in a giant print, 13 point. Our complete Old & New Testaments is available in large print,
11 point. Click
here
to see an example. Regular print New Testament with Psalms & Proverbs is 9 point, the regular print complete Old and New Testaments is 8 point, comparable to the
average paperback book. For comparison, Thomas Nelson’s Spirit
Filled Life Bible is printed in 9 point.
Q. What version is the
Personal Promise Bible?
A. It is the World English translation which is a modernized
version of the American Standard, which is well known for it’s
accuracy in translating the original texts. It is also available in the
original King James (1611 Authorized Version).
Q. Are Jesus’ words in
red?
A. No, but they are italicized so they are distinguishable
from the rest of the text.
Q. If I’m not sure,
is there some way I can show it to my spouse or friend?
A. Yes, you can go to the
Identity
in Christ page and print the free personalized "Identity in
Christ" Scriptures where the scriptures appear as they are in
the Personal Promise Bible. You can also print the personalized
book of
Ephesians for free.
Q. Can I get the Personal
Promise Bible in Spanish?
A. Not at this time, however, we hope to have it available
in 2008. Meanwhile, the
"Identity
in Christ" scriptures will be available in Spanish for free
on the website. Go to Identity in Christ.
The web site also includes "Identity in Christ" in German, French and
Swedish. We hope to add additional languages as translators become
available. If you have skills in other languages and would be
willing to help, please
contact
us.
Q. Can I get a couple
Bible?
A. The Personal Promise Bible currently includes the spouse's name approximately 150
times in appropriate passages like Ephesians 5:22-33; Colossians 3:18-19; Proverbs 31:10-31,
Psalms 128 and several others. Song of Songs (Song of Solomon) is also included in Bibles for
married individuals. We have studied making a couple Bible and concluded it does not flow well
with the personalizations. We also offer our Personal Pocket Scriptures on marriage called
One Flesh.
This is 80 pages of selected Scriptures personalized with both the husband and wife's names and
focused on topics such as forgiveness, communication and intimacy.
Q. How is the children's
Bible different?
A. The children's Personal Promise Bible is identical to
the leather Bible except for the cover design available in the
Paperback.
Q. What color choices
do I have for the leather?
A. You can choose from black, navy blue, burgundy or white.
Q. Is the Bible text
changed in any way?
A. The only "changes" to the text are to put your name
in the places where scripture uses pronouns like: you, us, we,
etc. and grammatical changes so the name reads correctly.
Q. How can I tell what
part of the text has been changed?
A. Anywhere changes occur in the text, including your name,
he/she, brother/sister, etc., they are in bold italicized print.
Minor grammatical changes are not highlighted.
Q. Scripture tells us
in Rev. 22:18: "If anyone adds to these things, God will add to
him the plagues that are written in this book." (NKJ). Isn't this
adding to the scriptures?
A. The Personal Promise Bible does not add to the scriptures
but rather clarifies the meaning of the scriptures much the same
way that the Amplified Bible clarifies the meaning of the text.
